AW70 to M46 conversion 200

There are some issues to be resolved with your proposed swap--but not the ones you ask about. The bell housing bolt patterns are the same. Your speed will still be measured by the differential mounted sending unit (modify the cap part of the '84 cable to close the drive at the transmission). Your main issue will be -- how to drive the ignition system. You'll need to mount the electronic igniton pick-up onto the '84 bellhousing--relatively easy. You'll need to locate a standard shift flywheel to match your '92 ignition so the pick-up has something to read--maybe realtively harder. You should also be aware that your rpm relative to road speed in any gear will be higher than it would have been with a factory installation as the auto has a 3.7 rear axle while the factory stick shift has a 3.3. --- Dave
