tachometer problem 700 1990

I think you might be interested in this thread and others like it -- I posted quite a bit a while ago:

If you care to search on "rob2volvos speedometer" on this site you can trace the fun I had with this.
Also, there is a special section in the FAQs "Speedometer Repair" under Descriptive Detail files. Probably as detailed as you'll find anywhere. I took the easy route and just cleaned up the gunk off the board. It's still working now, but I expect to have to replace capacitors eventually.
Post back your news on this. I'm curious to see if there are new solutions out there --
