Lower dash !!!! 1800 1970

Hi, I am just getting ready to replace both upper and lower pads for my ’63 P1800. Have removed the old pads and re-painted the metal dash frames, bought the new OEM aftermarket pads plus OEM adhesive so I’m ready and willing to give it a try. Any tips would be greatly appreciated as I do not want to make a mess or end up with folds/wrinkles after the adhesive sets. I have dry fitted both upper and lower and certainly notice a very snug fit except in the areas of compound curvature like under the upper pad where the curved panel shades the speed and tech instruments. Not quite sure how this will stretch out to remove any excess material to prevent fold overs or wrinkles.

Thanks a ton for any insight to this install,
Pete
