Whate Sits Under PS Pump, Not AC 200 1990

Okay, I've got a rhythmic chirping sound going in the engine compartment with engine running. A hose to the ear says it's coming from whatever sits under the PS pump. Bearings, do doubt. Gonna replace what ever it is, but what the heck is that thing? I don't think that my 240 wagon has air conditioning. There is a hose from it going to the passenger side firewall.

Suggestions, info, etc. will all be welcome.
