I do it all the time, just scanning posts and have a rejoinder so quick that I do not read carefully.

I cannot remember changing tranny fluid on any of the other 240's I've owned; I usually do not drive them long, just fix 'em and pass 'em on. That is to say, I do not know if all years had the drain bolt. If dropping the pan were the only other way to extract fluid, I would definitely change it via the radiator return line; that dipstick tube is a PAIN!
