Thanks for the advice on the electonic ignition thread, something to really think about after the stage 0 tune up. Now I'm wondering about the speedo cable. Today, after some wiring fixes, I started trying to see about getting the speedo working. I might be crazy but i'm seeing two cables! One is coming out of the passenger side fender and going, it feels, back into the cabin on the passenger side of the dash. I can't find it inside the cabin even after pulling down some of the carpet in the footwell. The other seems to be coming up from the passenger side of the transmission and loops into the cabin through the same firewall hole as the carb cables exit. I felt around for it up around the heater but my hand wouldn't fit very well. I then felt around and looked behind the speedo gauge but couldn't even see or feel where the cable would attach to the back of the gauge. Does the speedo need to be removed for the cable to attach? Confusion abounds! Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
