Ignition Switch slow failure? 200 1992

Hi,

After installing a voltmeter per Art's directions I noticed something suspicious with my wife's 92 245. When inserting the key into the ignition the voltmeter will only work (and the chime will only make it's sound-voltmeter is connected to chime) if you push in on the key. It pushes in about 1/8" of an inch. Sometimes while driving I will look and the voltmeter won't register or will register lower then the actual voltage so I push in the key and then the voltmeter works.

All other electrical items function correctly.

I should have noticed sooner (before installing voltmeter) since the chime would work once in a while, shame on me.

I think I read something on here about taking the switch apart and repairing but I might just get a new one and try to repair the malfunctioning one later.

Thanks,

Travis
