Sealing Camshaft Caps #1 #5 question 200

hi folks just me again with another question about my repairing. I went in and replaced my rear cam plug and my front cam seal.... but I didn't have sealant stating it was anaroebic sealant.... I used RTV red High temp is this okay for sealing these 2 metal on metal points? Should I go back in and put some other sealant? just want to make sure I did the job right(probably should have made sure before doing the job!) xD oh and can I safely take my caps #1 and 5# off without taking my camshaft sprocket off in the process? would make my life easier if i have to go back in....
