Steering issue 700 1991

I had the same problem on my 90 240. Steering locks momentarily when turning. Feels like it isn't going to turn. Pretty damn scary as I remember...

Tony is right.

Get some white lithium grease spray. Then turn the steering lock-to-lock for several minutes as you spray the the white lithium into the joint. Thoroughly saturate it. You may need to do this multiple times to free it up. Most likely the lower joint is the problem as I have never heard about the upper joint going bad. If it is still binding after lubing it, then the joint is shot and will need to be replaced.

One additional suggestion. You could spray the joint first with WD-40 then follow up with the grease spray. Worked on my 850...:)
