My '69 164 140-160

This is a scanned 1971 Kodachrome slide, so the quality isn't all that hot, but you can clearly see evidence of a diagonal strip in this image of my '70 164, taken the day after I bought it. I bought the car in the evening and didn't even notice the "ghost" strip until the next day. I never did replace it, and a little polish on the grill eliminated the evidence.

I also looked at the old R&T road tests of two 164's (a '69 "S" and a '72 "E"); they both had the trim in place.
