RPM dips down almost stalls and recovers 200 1985

I have a 1985 245 and it just recently started having consistent hiccups. At idle it will be fine and then suddenly and drastically dip down as if to stall but then something kicks in and it recovers. It will also do this kind of dipping while driving. Has it's going along it shoots down 500-1000 rpm. This issue can occur at idle, accelerating as well as driving along at 65. The way it happens makes me think it might be an electrical sensor/chip issue. It seems like it's a glitch. I recently paid an arm and a leg to have the MAF replaced but that was for another issue that was solved by the replacement. This problem showed itself a month later.

I cleaned the throttle body plate This did nothing to help.

I live in a small town and the closest mechanic is 25 miles so I'm trying to tackle it on my own. Any help would be appreciated.

I've seen other posts that have similar complaints but I didn't find anything that had this dipping problem with both idling and driving so I made this post.
