What you need is an extension sold to reach the valve spring retainers for recessed valve heads. It is made by a number of tool manufacturers--mine is made of plastic. It clips to the part of the valve spring compressor which pushes the retainer and has openings to allow extraction of the keepers with a magnet. There are steel washers sitting under the valve springs--be sure to remove them for cleaning--a strong thin magnet and a rotating motion helps get them out. -- Dave
