Regina Start and Idle 900 1993

OK, my 93 Regina equipped 945 was down on low end power, had poor idle and barely started. The MAP sensor gave me weird readings when checking with a vacuum pump so a new one went in. It solved most of the problems except a stutter and poor cold starting (takes 2 tries to get it going). Disassembly and cleaning of the throttle body took care of everything except cold starting. Idle though improved isn't perfect. Once started, it seems to start fine.

Followed the Volvo green book to set up throttle plate and linkage. The part I don't get it is when they tell you to adjust by putting a 2.5 mm shim at the pivot stop. After adjusting by listening for the TB switch click you should have ~0.1 mm gap at the lever arm stop. I don't and can't get it. What am I missing here, would like to solve the starting issue.

Any better way to set up the throttle plate?

Thanks again.

Mike
