Drive shaft flange problem 200 1992

Working on a 1992 Volvo 240 GL Sedan with a problem with the steel front flange of the drive shaft that attaches to the rubber donut at the back of the M47 transmission. There's a steel chunk of it missing on on one of the three flanges.
Never seen this before !!
Before I go dig out a drive shaft from a 1989 245 wagon with a M47 ......is the drive shaft from the 245 the same length ??
