Rebuilding front suspension, stock or IPD springs? 900

I'm rebuilding the front suspension in my '93 940 with 173k miles. I want to replace the springs and have trouble with spending $200 for a pair of stock springs when I can get a set of four IPD sport springs for $250.

The rear seems to have already been rebuilt with a set of KYB shocks. I'm not planning on going with sport shocks or upgraded sway bars and I actually like the smooth ride it has now. It's just the grinding of the rusted out struts that bothers me...

I live in Central NY where we have plenty of snow and not so smooth roads, so I don't want too harsh a ride. This isn't a car for cornering and soon I will have a teenager learning to drive in it.

So, what can I expect from the ride if I go with the sport springs?

Thanks.

Jeff
