Replacement Key 200 1991

I had to get replacement key for my '93 240 a couple years ago and thought I'd try my local dealer. So I went to their parts dept, gave them the VIN from the car and got a nice looking key with Volvo logo on it. But when I got home to try it out...their key didn't work. Went back to dealer and they recut another one and didn't charge me for it but that one didn't work either! (I am pretty sure but can't be absolutely certain that the locks have never been changed on the car either.) It didn't seem like close call either. I mean their key won't even move in the lock.

I finally gave up on dealer and went to reputable local locksmith shop who made a duplicate key for me for just a few bucks. That did the trick as the one th locksmith shop made for me works like a charm!
