240 A/T Shift Lock "Issues' 200 1992

The Young Princess is not happy. When she first starts the car in the morning on her way to school, depressing the brake does not initially disengage the shift lock. She needs to depress the brake several times, fiddle with the lever, then call Dad and complain before it finally clicks off. The rest of the starts during the day are without issue. Is there an adjustment or something that needs to be lubed which would allow me to avoid these early-morning calls?
