outer tierod assembly difference on 72 Volvo 142 140-160

Hello,

The steering rods are handed, 1206231 is the for the left hand side and the 1206232 is for the right.

Usually there is a "L" or "R" stamped into 1 end of each of the steering rods to indicate which one is which.

Also be aware that not only is each steering handed, you also have make sure you get the correct orientation for each steering rod.

If you look carefully, you will notice that 1 end of each steering rod has a bend and that bend should go either to the pitman arm for the left side or the idler arm for the right side.

If the "L" and "R" are present, the end with the letter stampe goes to the arm on the back of each wheel.
