Alternator question: 142 140-160

Hello,

If you think that is high, Volvo suggested list price for that voltage regulator currently is $353.56 for the updated electronic unit!!

What happened is Bosch raised their prices dramatically a few months ago.

We just sold our last Bosch external electronic voltage regulator for $105.00 and that is actually below my current cost for a replacement, but we bought that one before the price went up.

Although we have not tried 1 yet, we do have a Beru brand electronic voltage regulator that is a close duplicate visually and it is way cheaper.

We just don't know whether the Beru regulator is a good replacement for the Bosch.
