Engine Starting Problems

Now I just feel. I failed to plug back in the connector to the air control valve. Upon plugging it back in, I saw an immediate change in the idle while in park and when at cruise but coasting. However, on cold start the engine idled at 1000rpm in park but after driving a bit went up to around 1700rpm in park. I don't remember if this is normal. I would guess not. I reset the fault codes, drove awhile, then rechecked. New fault codes are:

2-2-1 Fuel system compensating for extremely rich or extremely lean fuel/air mixture at cruise.
2-3-1 Fuel system compensating for rich or lean fuel/air mixture at cruise.

Of all the recommended things for me to do from before, I did all except change the oxygen sensor. I went through my book to see how it is checked and the descriptions where different from what I found under the car. The book only described one wire coming out of the sensor that was attached with a connector that is tested for voltage. I found three wires coming out of the sensor with no connector.

I'm not sure what my next step is.
