Tailgate wont shut 700 1992

I have a 92 745 and just repaired the tailgate with a kit from IPD and everything went well.

Put it all back together and low and behold the tailgate will not latch completely. Checked all around the out side rim of the tailgate and nothing blocking.

If you lower the tailgate it will latch, but not completley. It is not fully seating in the closed position. It is latched, but only halfway. You can move it about an inch back and forth, but wont fully close and latch.

I didnt mess with anything other than the rear panel repair. Any ideas?

Secondly, can anyone tell me where the windshield washer hose for the rear window goes after it enters the firewall. I can not get fluid to the back window and I have traced fluid flow to the firewall working fine, but from there I need to check.
