help me get the car running RELIABLY again 700 1989

You are lucky enough not to have to worry about a rotting wiring harness.

'89's did not have the manufacturing "feature" of the environmentally friendly wiring insulation. It was so friendly to the environment it wanted to return to it as fast as possible so it jumped off the wires and landed on the ground. All the naked wires decided to huddle together for warmth causing all kinds of conflicts...mostly resulting in completely undiagnosable random electrical faults.

Thank the gods that you do not have this!
