No offense but how is this an economic decision? A bypass wire, if it is the relay, is about $6.

Resoldering it is either $.30 or about $25 dollars if you do not have a soldering iron.

If you actually diagnosed that the solenoid is bad and not the relay or the wire, a Dremel tool is about $35 to modify the solenoid to emulate the same function of the bypass plate.

Not knocking your decision, but I am questioning the justification.
