This is about the point I checked out. You had a very specific fault that probably the most knowledgeable poster on the site regarding the magic smoke that runs through Volvo wires said can be only one problem...and you allowed your mechanics to dismiss it.

Either get new mechanics, or learn which posters pretty much don't make blanket statements of "this is the one and only cause of your problem"...and follow those suggestions on your own. Art is one of those folks. Apparently when he does make such a statement (it really is rare), he is worth more than three repair shops.
