Thanks for the quick response. I hear a pretty loud buzz that is on for a few seconds. But when I take gas cap off and listen in the filler pipe I don't hear any continuous noise.

The shift lock override does not seem to be working. I got the release button on the shifter to depress but I still can't move the shifter when pressing the override button. It is key position I apparently. Our car came without an owners manual but I found one online.

I am now reading threads about troubleshooting the shift lock!
