cranks but no start, no codes S90-V90 1998

If you turn the key to the ON position and leave it there does the MIL light stay lit up on the instrument panel?

Crank but no start could mean no fuel pressure or no spark (which could be from a defective crank or cam sensor). Does it want to fire but doesn't? or does it just sound like it's getting no spark or fuel?

I'm surprised the override button is not allowing you to shift the lever.
