cranks but no start, no codes - update S90-V90 1998

Not a resolution but an update.

I had a business trip so the car ended up sitting for a few days. When I got back I tried it and it started right up and seems to be running fine.

I did have to pull up the plastic trim surrounding the shifter to get it out of park: used needle nose pliers to push down the metal pin that sits in the detents. That made the shifter button pop back out - it was stuck in the depressed position - and now all seems well with the shifter too.

I did get the check light when it started and I pulled the code:

P0118 - Engine coolant temperature circuit, high input

Not sure what that is about or if it could be related. As I say, it seems to be running like a champ.

We are using the car for short trips until we figure out whether this is just a temporary reprieve.
