Non turbo tranny in turbo car 900

Dear members
I would like to know if anyone has used a non turbo transmission in a turbo car?
I have a 1994 940 turbo with 03-71 transmission,and the donor car in the yard is a 1995 NON turbo with 03-71L transmission.
The FAQ says it is not recommended and the non turbo tranny will not live long behind a turbo engine,i could not find a turbo tranny and time is the issue.
If anyone has done it please include approximate mileage and if it is a straight swap.
