should I get a xc70 or keep my 945?

I know of no FWD/AWD car sold in the US that can match the turning circle of a 240 (maybe the Smart, Mini or Fiat 500?). I assume the 7/9 series is a bit bigger but still less than (almost) any FWD/AWD car.

FYI, I found out that there used to be three different methods that a manufacturer could use for their turning circle calculation. I believe it has been standardized now but beware the car with long front or rear overhang when just comparing paper specs. Why any of them would choose a number that would make them look worse than the competition is a beyond me unless they personally believed (as I do) that it should be the total swept are of the bit that sticks out the furthest...even if that is one of the mirrors.
