well...
my car was towed my mont. co. MD due to "curb repairs/improvements" being done by the county. i am in FL (for the last several months) b/c my dad was dying from cancer, now passed, and i left it parked, the registration expired, i couldnt get back to the car in time, etc, etc.... im still in FL, the state wanted $$$$/day to pay to get the car, i had nothing to get it back... etc.
i left the car, still insured, although reg. was expired, in front at its place of registration, and it was towed. my house-mate was "unable" to start/move the car to "his" driveway (he couldnt even figure out how to open the tailgate), and so now the state has it and is going to auction it, or has done so already. someone is in for a good deal. its a manual trans. 165k on the clock. i know the vin, i know details of the car, etc. the county's "curb repairs" is a total joke. RIDICULOUS!! i feel they (the govt/county) did it on purpose, indirectly, as this cash-for-clunker nonsense.... and left me out of cash. i'm so furious!! the car was on a street that needed nothing!!
i'm just hoping whoever ends up with it knows i'm sad, and they got a hell of a deal b/c that car was/is a good car.
cancer sucks, governments suck, not having money sucks, house-mates suck.
the point of this ramble is just THANKING everyone and letting b/b KNOW because i have silently referred to the site as a resource for many years, and if i ever see my car again, i will know.
