PV Heater Motor (Blower) 444-544

Hello,

Have you pulled the fan and then bench tested yet?

If the fan still works and does not make the screeching sound while bench testing, the problem is most likely the inner "bearing" has deteriorated.

When this happens, the fan blade can start to rub the bottom of the heater box.

We have never found a direct replacement for the failed "bearing", but I did find a standard sealed roller bearing that fits, but you have to use spacers to set the end play of the armature.

FYI, if you attempt this repair yourself, mark the side of the fan motor case both on top and below BEFORE you take it apart to make sure you reassemble the motor correctly.
