transmission code 114 please help

1998 S90 161,000 miles

after extensive professional troubleshooting i was told to do a transmission scan at official volvo dealership.

here is what my problem is---car hesitates and jerks fron dead stop, slipping gears but once above 10 mph drives fine.

Trusted mechanic checks everything related to the engine and found that problem is with transmission so i went to a dealer and for $150 did a full transmission diagnistic report. Code 114 was found "mode selector switch intermitent fault signal too high" as stated by the dealer. they cleaned connector at the transmission and reset the code; however problem didnt go away.

I was told to buy a new transmission for almost $4,500. NO WAY.

it sounds like an electrical problem.

can this be fixed and where to look??? if this is a mode selector why gears slip??
thank you all
