re: 87 245 auto - 50 ft extension cord for 20amp 8/3 question 200 1987

Hi All,

I need a 50 foot long extension cord for 20amp for my HFT MIG welding machine.

http://www.harborfreight.com/welding/mig-flux-welders/wire-welder-90-amp-flux-68887.html

Now, there is a twist, my 20amp mig welder has a plug end that looks like 15amp plug.
Also, my mig weld manual recommends 8AWG...

I can find a 50ft long, 20amp, plug receive either 15/20amp and 10AWG but not ones they are asking for....

Yellow Jacket 2991 20-Amp Generator Cord with T-Blade 5-20 Lighted Ends, 50-Feet

I went to HFT/Home Depot/Acer and spoke with several guys, they thought 8AWG is overkill and I can weld it with 10AWG but they don't sound too confident. What should I do? Just use 10AWG? And some companies make 10AWG for 15amp but some do make 10AWG FOR 20amp. What??? Help. Thank you as always.
