I've been to my local pick and pull today and found an SR-7145 tuner/equalizer, and the matching front amp from a 90 760 turbo (model number 138914, made in Japan with a fan on the side?) I'm pretty sure that this is also Alpine made. My Google searches are coming up pretty empty.
It does have DIN outputs for the amp, and what looks like a 12 pin DIN output (or perhaps input) for hooking up an accessory (CD changer perhaps). It also has speaker outputs from the front end, and one person online believes that the amp has an internal crossover, so tweeters might be driven by the front end, but woofers and rear door speakers perhaps are being driven by the 138914 amp. But that's still to be confirmed.
I've just acquired an 88 780 Bertone, that the previous owner removed the original stereo front end. He put in a no-name front end, but it did give him CD, SD and USB inputs, so that's not all bad.
I know the original rear deck amp is still in place (but not wired up). Haven't looked under the dash for the front amp (too cold, and I'm not sure where exactly to look (and don't tell me "under the dash", that part I know). Not really about to start taking a 780 dash apart in November in Michigan if I can avoid it.
Does anyone know if I can mate this front end up to the DIN equipped 780 amp (or amps if the front one is still there?
Many thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this.
