Tachometer not working 200

Hi guys....

1986 240GL with a non working large tachometer and odometer. Both stopped working at approximately the same time.

So far I have checked to make sure the white/red wire is plugged into the back of the tachometer, (it was), and ran a jumper wire from the coil to the spade connector on the back of the tachometer, (the spade on the left when looking at the rear of the cluster). Even with the jumper wire connected, the tach doesn't work.

Does this mean that the tach has gone bad or am I missing something?

Thanks.

Dave
