IPD horn installation 700

I am installing a set of IPD horns in my 91 740T. There was one horn in the car mounted near the battery on the back side of the rad originally. There were two yellow wires and two blue wires joined together (pair of yellow and pair of blue)in the wiring harness joined to the original horn with what looked like speaker wire (so not likely stock). I ran a pair of wires for the existing connectors and ran one side to each side of the new horns. I can only get one horn to work at a time, but both will work individually. Plugged in together they don't work.

Ideas? Run them in series instead of parallel? Stick to one horn and be done with it? I see posts with people with multiple horns? I used decent wire and connectors crimped on correctly. No twisted wires etc. I can grab a meter at work for more detailed trouble shooting on what is happening, but this was supposed to be the easy fix on the list!

Thanks for all replies.
