Dust boot is giving me fits 200

I'm mating the two driveshaft sections.

The old dust boot was torn up beyond use. Might as well not use one at all as continue to use it.

So I bought a new boot. Genuine Volvo OE part # 1206097.

The small diameter opening goes toward the rear and must therefore go over the splines first.

And I cannot get it started on. It is a really tight fit.

I need to buy or fashion something to expand the boot. The new boot, while more pliable than the old one, is still pretty resistant to stretching.

Maybe if I had three hands. That may be the answer. I'll have to recruit some help.

This was going to be easy, or so I thought. At the moment I would rather be doing another blower motor replacement than trying to install this thing. It is a bitch from hell.

Any suggestions?
