volvo 240 fuel pump connection to high pressure line 200 1987

Did the filter and pump changeover and now have a small dribble leak at the union of the check valve to the special fuel line that connects the fuel pump and the filter. Does anyone know if there should be a washer of any kind at the screw on connection to the check valve?

Used an aftermarket pump with the outlet off set, which increases the odds of the fitting being a bit tweaked ...will have to take the assembly out and re-do it, just wondering about the washer possibility so this time is the last time.

Thanks for any advice. Brickman101
