Reverse light switch 200

The M46 was introduced several years prior to 1983.

Both it and the M45 were used for the US market depending on model into the early 80's until the M45 was dropped altogether.

# 47 is actuated by the top selector plate and serves to engage the reverse gear. For a time I supposed it also actuated the switch but I'm certain this is not the case. See my earlier reply.

You are correct about # 53 as far as it keeps the lever in place when reverse is used. But is has no effect on the switch.
