If you have no air leaks, then I would suspect your idle control valve with your idle being high. You can pull your ICV(note directional arrow points towards the engine). You have an ICV that can be disassembled for cleaning all covered in the FAQs. After you clean it you may have to adjust your idle per the FAQs.
Power stage would not cause high idle. You should apply some thermal grease on the back. Did you check your throttle position sensor for proper operation?
On a side note. Your year group has the notorious engine wiring harness insulation breaking down. If it's original you can see it on the brown wires that bolt to the top of intake manifold. Those are ground wires for the injectors. If the insulation has flaked off or is gone you have the original harness. Finding a harness is getting harder and harder. You can patch/repair but lots of times it is also breaking down inside the sheathing.
