Facing the choice and need advice - 180K miles 1994

Gotta disagree with you on this one. The Volvo fuel filter has an ENORMOUS volume and rarely needs changed. If the OP is picking battles...this is one that is totally unnecessary unless there are symptoms that point to a fuel flow problem.

I have yet to replace one...ever...in more than 300K miles of Volvo driving. All on cars that stared with between 100K miles and 280K miles. All but one had the original filter.
