Three or four times a year I put Techron in each car with a fill-up before I take a trip of a hundred miles or more.
If you REALLY want to see some results, put an ounce of it in your snow blower or lawn mower. The first time I did my snow blower, it was running, and I could hear the difference immediately.
About 18 years ago, we bought our first Brick, an '88 745 GLE. I asked the service lady ( the best advisor I ever had ) if I should use fuel injector cleaner. She told me that Volvo does not recommend it.
A few years later after management had changed ( the owner had purged all the long-time employees and top management because of a dispute ) I got a '90 744 TI that ran a bit rough, when I asked what I should try, a new advisor told me to try injector cleaner.
I asked a friend of mine who had sold Volvos but left before the purge about the change of advice.
He told me that the old team got top ratings for service and they got a $1000 bonus at the end of the year for each new car that sold during the year - they had sold 1400 cars the year before and got a 1.4 million dollar bonus and figured that they could put 5-6 hundred into a customer if need be to keep their rating.
SO... whenever a car came in for service, they gave it a shot of injector cleaner from a big barrel they had.
The new team lost their top rating and lost their bonus and could not afford to buy the cleaner.
About a year later, Volvo helped the original management team that got purged open up a new dealership right down the street - Volvo did not like the firing of long-time employees - the new dealer put the other out of business in a few months.
I moved as soon as they opened.
