87-740 Turn over/no start. After hard rain.

Then the car would start and run normally after awhile.
I poured a bottle of water onto the hood at the windshield and created the same symptom. Turn, but no start. On further examination, I could see water at the plug for the hall effect switch.
Im assuming what I need to do is pack that plug with dielectric grease to seal it.
Possibly pull the cap and do the same, ditto for the secodary ignition wires.
Is it possible to seal the hood so no water can get under there?

Thanks

Larue
