Check Engine Light MAF? 200

Hello,
After driving my 1990 240 through a blizzard the other night. I noticed my check engine light had come on. Now with a little help from my brickboard friends I am now educated and believe it to be my cars MAF. Due to the fact they are known to just go pop and not work correctly anymore. My cars has the symptoms of rough idle, occasionally has to search for idle speed when in park increasing rpms and then dropping them, it also used to when it sat a day in a wet environment the next day it would hesitate when wanting to accelerate or it would even stall. And now that I believe it to be the MAF I have tried taking out the wire that hooks up to it with no change in engine speed. Does this sound like MAF issues to anyone else? Any comments welcome.

Thanks Guys,
Mackenzie
