Squealing Noise when heat/ac are on 200 1993

Over the last couple of days a squealing sound has developed when I have the heat or a/c button turned on in my '93 240 wagon. It has about 214,000 miles on it. Still blows heat and cold air if the a/c is on, but now squeals constantly. At first, it would come and go, now it is constant. If I turn the heat off and then back on it sometimes won't squeal for a short time, but eventually it comes back. Terrible noise. Is this a sign of a dying blower motor that I have heard so many horror stories about, or something else?
