B20F to B20E 120-130

The 1973 140 Green Volvo manual gives thicknesses for both B20E and B20F heads.
For B20E the value is 84.9mm or 3.3425"
For B20F the value is 87.0mm or 3.425"
So the difference is 0.0825".
Assuming (Assume makes an ass out of U and ME) the castings/combustion chambers are the same,
then you could mill it a little over 80 thou and get what you want.
I can tell you that on my Yellow Peril ('73 145E) the head was milled about 100 thou and
that puts it out of the regular gas category, as my blown head gasket coming back from
the Gilmore last August proved. It DID run well, had lots of power but did have a tendency
to "pink" under load. Going to the Gilmore from Bartlesville, we made it to New Paris, Indiana
the first day, a distance of 777 miles, so you can see that it ran pretty well.
Thanks to Denis Lavangie of Springfield, MO (Denis' Volvos) we were able to get a new gasket installed
and were on the road again in 5 hours. (Thanks, Denis, and Thank YOU, Lord!)
BTW with new Sealed Power lifters on a stock "D" cam, I had to put shims under the rocker stands
to allow the valves to close completely, so it is obvious the head was SHORTER!
