240 won't start!!! 200 1986

I have an 86 245DL... I was having some charging trouble, now it won't start at all.

Recently replaced the voltage regulator on the alternator. It ran fine for a couple of weeks.

THEN SOMEONE STOLE THE BATTERY OUT MY CAR!

So I bought a new one, and now the dang car won't start. Everything else seems to be there (nothing else taken), and it seems to "want" to turn on (ignition switch seems to be working) but it just can't seem to turn over.

I really need to move it soon before it's towed.

2 questions:

did I buy the wrong battery type???

It has been sitting about 3 weeks, would that matter???
