rough idle when cold, rev it a few times and it goes away 200 1990

Some arm chair musings as it is too cold and dark outside to investigate now. The newly purchased 1990 245 had the battery drained from a power door lock short, which I disconnected and then charged the battery. The first start up thereafter felt like it was running on 3 cylinders, then after revving once or twice it evened out and seemed normal. The P.O. said when stone cold it lacked power the first time you accelerated. I assume it is a vacuum leak, and I noticed a bad crack on the fuel rail return line-could that be part of it?

On a positive note, I was able to change the door lock out (vandalized) and isolate the short to the drivers central lock harness before the weather turned too cold.
