Engine keeps cutting out. Fuel pump? 1987

Hello, 2 days ago while driving my 240 87' the engine started acting funny. I was driving down the road and the engine acted like it was no longer recieveing gas. It sputtered and started working again, but then it quickly died and I was forced into a parking lot.
After attempting to start again it would catch and run only for an instant before dying again. At anytime i try to use the gas pedal it doesnt do anything. It almost feels like the throttle isnt giving gas to the engine (throttle work).
After sitting for approx 30 minutes i got it to run again and attempted to get home. At random times it would sputter and get full power again. It finally did cut out again and i was unable to restart until the next day.

Ive spoke with a few people and they have a couple of ideas as to what it is but i feel here is probably the best spot to look.
1. Fuel pump may be slowly going and needs to be replaced.
2. Fuel Filter is clogged.
3. Fuel line is pinched somewhere (not sure, nothing changed anywhere not sure if true)
4. There's a hole in the line somewhere letting in air. (I dont think only because no fuel is leaking and it does run fine once i get it running, but only for short distances)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

EDIT: While searching around i found someone with what i believe to be a very similar problem here http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070907062429AABaB2N
Do any of these suggestions listed sound plausible? I have already replaced my Fuel pump relay with a brand new one but that wasnt it.
