Just got through this. It is written for trained professionals, trained in the era before electricity played as big a role in autos, but assuming skill in what's left. Clearly the author actually worked on these cars, as well as had access to the service bulletins and other Volvo literature. This is as contrasted with the tear down Haynes does or the editing of factory manuals Bentley does.

I couldn't agree with you more.
